The text is an excerpt from Garcilaso's first eclogue. This theatrical work tells the story of two shepherd boys reminiscing on their misadventures with love. I wanted to write a work that showed a choir's euphony while requiring the musical ability to shape an emotional story that anyone can understand.

This piece fuses vocal and dynamic extremes with American and Andalusian culture. The first section is about falling in love. The middle section is about losing love, while the recapitulation is about longing for love once again.
