Composer. Conductor. Organist. Vessel.

I build sacred music for strange times. My work lives at the intersection of theology, symbol, and sound—where chant meets harmony, where MIDI meets manuscript, where tradition meets tomorrow. Whether through conducting, composing, or teaching, I aim to draw the listener into something deeper than sound: something transcendent.

HXHM isn’t just a monogram. It’s my sacred shorthand for a lifelong calling—to create, carry, and consecrate sacred artistry in the modern world.

A Journey of Sound and Symbol

I began my musical path at the console of a pipe organ. From those first resonant tones, I fell in love with music’s ability to not just express—but to reveal. I hold an Associate of Science in Pipe Organ Performance from SUNY Schenectady, a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from SUNY Albany, and a Master of Arts in Music Conducting from Tufts University, where I became the first conducting major in school history.

My mentors shaped me deeply. I studied organ with Alfred Fedak, composition with Max Lifchitz, Kareem Roustom, and John McDonald and conducting with Dr. Michael Pfitzer, John Page, and Jamie Kirsch. Each brought unique insight into sound, discipline, and vision—and I carry those lessons into every rehearsal, score, and stage.

Sacred Work in Sacred Spaces—and Beyond

I’ve arranged Chinese pop ballads for intercultural choirs, led hymnody in 150-year-old sanctuaries, and scored symphonic works that reflect on grief, death, and spiritual transformation. I’ve taught private students, directed church music programs, and curated musical experiences that blur the line between art and liturgy.

My approach is both mystical and methodical—rooted in historical sacred language, symbolic analysis, and rigorous structure. I believe in the enduring power of sacred music not only to enrich worship but to shape culture, community, and imagination.

What I’m Building

HXHM Enterprise is the home for my work as a 21st-century sacred artist. Here you’ll find:

  • Original compositions through Hallowed Minstrel Publishing

  • Educational courses through The Composer’s Study

  • Live ensemble work via Ossia Philharmonic

  • Merch and culture through Bit & Baton Apparel

  • Mentorship & community via Emerge Conservatory

  • Professional recordings via Pedalpoint Recordings

All of it is offered in the spirit of what I call portable sanctuary—music that travels with meaning, consecrating the places it enters.
